SMALL BUSINESS LAW ADVICE

Keep accurate records! If you deal with leasing make sure you have a lease agreement that protects you as a land-lord. Even if you are leasing with a friendly aquaitance or family member hire or have your attorney draft up a lease agreement. It becomes extremely expensive for you if you need to sue and you come to my office with only a verbal agreement.

Spell out all the penalties and all the rights and obligations it will protect you if the worse happens and you need to enforce the agreement.

Interesting case. I have noticed the city that I grew up in built these super athletic buildings with extra practice facilities appears that they foresaw this coming.

The old way sports schedule was because of lack of space for practice for girls and boys basketball.

MOVING CHILDREN OUT OF STATE

Question what are the laws for moving kids out of the state of Michigan without the permission of the other parent?

Answer It depends on a couple things.

Pursuant to MCR 3.211, every custody order must contain a provision that prohibits changing the domicile of the children from the state of Michigan without permission of the court.

If there is not a custodial environment with the other parent then you must show by preponderance of the evidence that the move has the potential to improve the quality of life of the child.

If both parents have an established custodial environment and the proposed parenting time schedule effectively amounts to a change in the established custodial environment, the parent requesting the move must show by clear and convincing evidence that the move is in the best interests of the child. MCL 722.27(1)(c).
