I recently had a client who did not trust lawyers. He was bitter and had spent $23 grand in attorney fees on his divorce without children. He hired me to modify his spousal support award based on his income being cut in half. I got the guy a hell of a deal in the end but the whole time I was battling him because he did not trust me and didn't tell me the whole story.

Attorney client privledge is protected big time in this country because it is central to being the best lawyer possible. Not everyone is perfect and I would never judge a client based on his actions in the past.

We are all human tell your lawyer EVERYTHING that may hurt your case. We are not mind readers if we know the facts we can work in your best efforts for a good result.
